Anticipation
Anticipation, part of my Connection series, portrays the anticipatory moment that precedes an intimate kiss.
The space between the couple's lips, the touch of their hands, and the way they lean into one another all serve to amplify the longing and desire of the moment just before a kiss.
This moment is often more emotionally charged than the kiss itself. It speaks to the universal human experience of longing for intimacy and the culmination of an emotional journey – expressed through the inherently cold materials of computer waste.
As with much of my work, the piece also looks inward, where the act of love is about seeing and embracing parts of each other that are not visible on the surface. It asks us to consider what it is we truly desire from a love connection with another.
Interestingly, some see the gesture of the inset woman as a sign of openness and vulnerability. Others see it as an expression of expectation. What does it mean to you?
