Traveler

Traveler depicts a cyborg in the dhyana mudra — the meditation posture of deep, unwavering concentration — seated in the lotus position, going nowhere.

The Buddhist unalome on its chest maps the journey inward: tight spirals representing struggle and confusion at the base, a gradual straightening as clarity emerges, a final open line marking arrival. This being doesn't travel through space. It travels through consciousness.

The sculpture explores the idea that meditation can be a means of navigation — that a sufficiently focused mind moves through something, even in stillness. What that something is, and what influence it exerts beyond the physical realm, is the question the piece leaves with you.

Note: Depending on the lighting, Traveler’s reflection can appear unsettling, adding a layer of ambiguity to the otherwise peaceful figure. The contrast is intentional.
