Seeking Balance

Seeking Balance, part of my Connection series, speaks to the fluid boundaries between self and other, and the profound changes sparked by emotional entanglement.  The woman’s reflective form represents conscious transformation, her passing through the man’s frame a metaphor for moving through memory, identity, and relationships. He, rendered hollow in exposed circuitry, depicts a partner that is present in shape but absent in essence.

Her puzzle-piece hand reaching into his head supports her search for understanding, meaning, and connection—yet in lighted reflection, it dissolves, emphasizing that some truths are impermanent, and some connections don’t survive the bright light of examination. The disappearing male in reflection underscores how our perceptions of others are often projections, mutable and unreliable.

Ultimately, Seeking Balance is about the act of moving forward, of stepping through the intangible—past selves, relationships, ideas of identity—and being changed in the process. It is a study of presence, memory, and the drive for self understanding experienced by those who choose to evolve.
