Seeking Balance
Seeking Balance depicts a woman moving through a relationship — literally. The male figure she passes through is built as an outline: hollow circuitry, present only in his frame.
She is solid. Reflective. Real. He is the negative space of a person — there in shape but absent in substance. A puzzle-piece hand reaches into his hollow head, searching for connection that dissolves under examination. In the reflection, his form fades almost entirely. What remains is her.
The piece explores what it means to stay present in a relationship with someone who isn't fully there — the effort it takes, the way you change in the process of moving through it, and what you carry to the other side.
