Passenger # 1

We all carry passengers. How well do you know yours?

Passenger #1, part of my Reflections series, explores themes of inner beauty, self-reflection, and transformation.

The woman's downward gaze is a symbol of introspection, as she looks inward at her own essence rather than outward at the world. The face on her chest embodies this inner self—a beautiful, distinct entity that is a core part of her identity.

The vibrant butterfly wings depict change, growth, and the emergence of something new. While the outer figure remains poised and still, the brightly colored wings portray a dynamic and ongoing transformation from within.

The sculpture's reflective nature is central to its impact. As you move, it creates a kaleidoscope effect, showing its surroundings in a fractured yet beautiful way.

When a spotlight hits it, the reflection on the wall blurs the lines between the inner and outer forms. This effect speaks to the idea that our inner and outer selves are not separate but are part of a unified being.

The art invites us to see our true selves, hidden just beneath the surface, reflected back at us in unexpected ways.
