Fractured Stillness

Fractured Stillness, part of my Beyond Humanity series, resulted from a collaboration with Hal Yaskulka, a classically trained painter.  The sculpture depicts a woman in deep meditation, her hands in the Gyan Mudra pose and her legs in the lotus position, representations of wisdom and spiritual concentration.

Her fractured face, however, creates a powerful tension with the implicit calm of her body's pose. This contrast explores the intersection of the spiritual and the digital, asking how we find peace and stillness in a world of constant information overload.

The figure's fragmented head is a poignant metaphor for our modern condition, where our minds are constantly pulled in different directions by the very technology we create.
